Create, rename and delete projects

Create a project for each service you add passkeys to. A project has a Live environment and a Test environment.

Create a project

  1. Click "+ New project" in the switcher at the top left (you can also use "+ Create project" on the organization overview or on the "Projects" tab of "Organization settings").
  2. Enter a project name (for example, Member site; up to 100 characters).
  3. In "Test environment origins", enter the origin where you open your service in development (default http://localhost:3000; separate multiple origins with commas or spaces).
  4. Click "Create". The overview of the new project's Test environment opens.
  • Admins and Owners can create projects.
  • A new project has only the Test environment (RP ID localhost). Create the Live environment once you know the domain of your login page. See Live and Test environments.

View the project list

The "Projects" tab of "Organization settings" lists the projects and their environments (Live and Test; those not yet created are marked as such).

Rename a project

  1. Open the project and click "Environment settings" in the menu.
  2. Change the project name in the "Project" section and click "Save".

Admins and Owners can rename a project. The section also shows the project ID.

Delete a project

  1. Click "Delete project" at the bottom of "Environment settings" (or choose "Delete project" from the row menu on the "Projects" tab of "Organization settings").
  2. Enter the project name to confirm, and click "Delete".
  • Only Owners can delete a project.
  • Both environments, API keys, users, passkeys and audit logs are deleted. Deleted users can no longer log in with their passkeys. This cannot be undone.
